Situated on the exclusive Monte Lemos development 1km from Praia da Luz beach, Casa Pôr do Sol is a detached eco-villa, which uses no fossil fuels. All our energy comes from the sun, and is stored in batteries to ensure power is available throughout the day and night.
It is equipped to sleep up to 6 guests, and has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is a private heated swimming pool.
Views from the villa are superb, and you will enjoy some marvelous sunsets. The thatched
pergola on the patio is perfect for outdoor dining on warm summer evenings.
The building, furnishings and fitments are to a very high standard, and it has air conditioning.
Access to the villa is very easy. It is a 1 hour drive from Faro airport (mostly quiet motorway) and is conveniently close to the centre of Luz (10 minutes walk or 2 minutes drive). The location is very private and the property is secure.
There is a maid service twice a week.
Casa Pôr do Sol was originally built in 2003, but was significantly upgraded and modernised in 2022/2023. The villa is on three split levels. The master bedroom, on the third level, has a super-king sized bed, an en-suite bathroom, and it's own terrace which faces south-west, and offers superb views. The other two bedrooms are on the second level. One has a double bed, an en-suite shower room, and it's own terrace. The third bedroom has twin beds, and it's own terrace. There is a large family bathroom close by. All bedrooms are a similar size. The master bedroom and the double bedded room both have air conditioning. The twin and double also have ceiling fans.
The master bedroom has a locking safe for your valuables. The upper landing has a quiet reading area with bookshelves.
Casa Pôr do Sol is fully compliant with the Alojamento Local licencing system for property rentals in Portugal.
After all the appropriate health and safety inspections, we were granted the licence in May 2015.

Any villa owners who rent their properties and who do not have this licence, are breaking the law.
The newly re-modelled ground floor has a large open plan room with a lounge, dining area, kitchen and utility room. This open plan room is air-conditioned.
There are 3 patio doors opening onto a patio overlooking the pool. The media wall has a large smart TV (streaming channels), and a Sonos music system. We have high speed fibre broadband, and wi-fi is available throughout the villa. A telephone is located in the lounge (not for international calls).
The contemporary designed fully equipped kitchen and utility room have high-end appliances. Outside, the kidney shaped heated swimming pool is serviced weekly and there are six sun beds on the pool patio. The villa is surrounded by gardens, and is fenced and gated so is very secure. The extensive patios have tables, chairs, and a barbeque.
The road on which Casa Pôr do Sol is located, is a very quiet cul-de-sac. Opposite the villa, and behind the villa is open countryside. The villa is not overlooked at all, either around the pool area, or on other patios.

To reduce environmental impact, the villa is equipped with thermal solar panels and an air source heat pump to heat the water, photovoltaic panels to generate electricity, and battery storage. Grey water / sewerage from the villa is treated and re-cycled for use in the garden, along with stored rain water. There is an 11 kW Type 2 car charger for guests who arrive in an electric car.
Praia da Luz is a lovely seaside resort, only 1km from the villa. There is a superb safe beach, and a good choice of cafés, bars and restaurants. There are shops to buy beach and pool toys and beach towels, but you will find a selection of these at the villa. Luz has two mid-sized supermarkets, two banks, two pharmacies, an optician, a doctors' surgery, and much more. Luz consists mainly of villas; not the high-rise hotels and apartment blocks found further east on the Algarve. It is a delightful, friendly, attractive location for your holiday.
Casa Pôr do Sol is a privately owned villa which is managed locally by Luz Servicos, a long established villa management company based in Praia da Luz. Cristina's team will ensure that everything runs smoothly during your stay, and they will be on hand to answer any queries you may have concerning the villa, or any local information you may need.
The nearest large town to Praia da Luz is the beautiful historic walled town of Lagos, which is only 5km from the villa. Here you will find a great selection of restaurants, bars, shops and large supermarkets. There are museums and cultural centres, a large marina, golf courses, and several superb beaches. We consider Lagos to be the nicest town on the Algarve.
